Roseanne Jones

Gothic Punk mixed media & Artamatik Fine Art Print Artist

Roseanne was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1978. She has lived in Christchurch all her life. Roseanne has always been interested in art and since a small child she has been creating works of art in a mixture of mediums. Roseanne trained in Graphic Design, she is a self taught visual artist. Roseanne has spent the last 10 years working full time as an artist, during that time she was fortunate enough to be employed as a an Artist in Residence in 1998 at Shirley Intermediate School and in 2001 for the OSCAR Network.

Roseanne has spent a lot of time experimenting with new mediums; paper, canvas and now fabric. Roseanne also creates open edition fine art print collections, which come under the Artamatik label. The subjects vary from traditional like landscapes to the more alternative, underground themes, Punk, Gothic and Erotica.

Fabric collages by Roseanne Jones have found homes in many countries around the world such as Japan, London, America, Australia and of course in her home country, New Zealand. Roseanne has had many successful solo and group shows in Christchurch. Currently she is working on abstract underground fashion inspired fabric collages with a touch of the urban style graffiti theme. Roseanne uses a variety of materials in her collages; leather, lace, vinyl, digital photography prints, PVC, spikes and buckles just to name a few. These alternative collages look awesome hung on the wall in the lounge, bedroom or studio and offer something rather unique! They have been made with intention of being touched as well as looked at!

Gothic Punk was launched in March 2006 by artist Roseanne Jones showcasing Christchurch, New Zealand underground talent. The site was created to promote the annual Gothic Punk Art Exhibition
